Get the clarity and confidence you need to create a home you love

Proverbs 14:1 tells us, “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.”  Let’s explore together what it means to wisely build your house on the sure foundation of the Word of God. To create a vibrant, joyful environment where your family members can thrive. To forge a strong, safe haven that is filled with peace and love.  And to create a warm, and inviting place for friends and family to gather.

Prayers

Philippians 4:6 urges us to “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”  One of my favorite ways to do this is by praying scripture over family, friends, trials, and tribulations. Our free printable prayer guides will help you do the same.

Our daughter Bekah signed up to attend a missions Our daughter Bekah signed up to attend a missions conference in Florida with a friend this month and asked last minute if she could bring her 15-year-old brother along, too. We said yes, and she sent home all these wonderful photos to document the great time they were having. I love to see my adult kids go adventuring, but it especially warms my heart when they invite younger brothers and/or sisters to join them. These close sibling relationships are one of the very best by-products of having spent so many years spent homeschooling together. I love how much our kids love one another. ❤️ #bigfamilylife #homeschooling #lovingfamily #adventureawaits
Can you believe we’ve been homeschooling for wel Can you believe we’ve been homeschooling for well over thirty years now? Since ten of our twelve have already graduated, I’m rapidly approaching the finish line — a bittersweet fact that spawns a wide range of emotions. Joy, on the one hand, over watching my children grow into mature, responsible, compassionate adults. (3 John 1:4) But I feel a little sadness, as well, knowing that this wonderfully sweet and rich and full and rewarding (albeit simultaneously challenging and exhausting and demanding) season of my life is drawing to a close. What will I ever do once it’s completely behind me? That’s why I’m thrilled to report that my homeschooling career recently got an extension, as I’m getting to school three of my grandkids this year. They’re doing a great job of keeping me on my toes and keeping my two youngest company, so the house doesn’t feel nearly as empty as we thought it might this semester. #homeschoollife #lifestyleoflearning
Having read this book chapter-by-chapter last year Having read this book chapter-by-chapter last year as it was being written, I know what a labor of love it was for Abbie to write and how earnestly she prayed over every word. 🙏🏻 I know how much scripture she packed into these pages and how faithfully she has lived out its message through all the years we’ve been friends. 🎯 And I also know what a powerful blessing this book is going to be to every reader who is willing to take its transformative message to heart. ❤️ Congratulations, @m.is.for.mama , on another (hard) job well done. I can’t wait to start reading book #3! 😊 #flandersfamilyreads #bookstagram #hardisnotthesamethingasbad
My sweet husband had an early start, so I ended up My sweet husband had an early start, so I ended up painting his truck in the dark this year. 🌙 “Just Married 36 Years & My Wife Still Adores Me.” 💕 What I wrote is so true. I suspected Doug would make a wonderful husband as soon as I met him, but he has far surpassed all my hopes and dreams. 😍 Is he perfect? No. Neither am I. But there is a world of happiness and abiding joy that awaits couples willing to love despite their flaws, forgive offenses when they inevitably come, work as a team, and remain committed to one another “for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health.” 👫 We’ve had our fair share of all those things, but are grateful for the way God has used every trial to draw us closer to Him and closer to one another. 🌱 Here’s to 36 more years (or as many as our Maker will grant us) of wedded bliss! 🎉 #happyanniversay #36years #moreinlovethanever #stillhoneymooning

One of our family vacation traditions — at least One of our family vacation traditions — at least for Mom and Abby, though others usually join in when we’re getting close — is to race the clock to see if we can finish a jigsaw before time to return home. We normally work 1000-piece puzzles that we pick up at thrift shops as we travel. But this trip, the resort had a collection of puzzles guests could check out, so we did that instead. We chose a 500-piece puzzle to start, but finished it the first night and went back for a second. #flandersfamilytravels #roadtrip #jigsawpuzzles #funmemories
